Biography
Theodore "Ted" Carlisle Landsmark is an American educator, attorney, architect, and civil rights advocate. He served as President of Boston Architectural College from 1997 to 2014, leading its growth from a design center into an internationally recognized, multi-disciplinary higher education institution. Dr. Landsmark holds a B.A., M.E.D. (Master of Environmental Design), and J.D. from Yale University, and a Ph.D. from Boston University. He has served as President of the National Architectural Accrediting Board and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. A Senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council, he also serves on the DFC's Executive Board. In 2014, Mayor Marty Walsh appointed him to the Boston Planning and Development Agency's Board of Directors. Landsmark received the Whitney M. Young Jr. Award from the American Institute of Architects in 2006 for his advocacy work and commitment to diversity in the architecture profession.
