Jim Olson

Jim Olson, FAIA, is the founder of Olson Kundig, where he has explored the aesthetic interplay of art, nature, and architecture for over sixty years. His career is marked by significant residential and commercial projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and internationally, often designed for art collectors. Under his leadership, Olson Kundig received the 2009 National AIA Architecture Firm Award and has been named one of Fast Company's Top Ten Most Innovative Companies in Architecture four times. Jim's individual honors include the AIA Seattle Medal of Honor, the FCARM Medal, and induction into Interior Design magazine's Hall of Fame in 2012. His work has been widely published and exhibited, including the traveling retrospective 'Jim Olson: Architecture for Art.' He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and has lectured extensively on the relationship between architecture, art, and nature.
